Namboole Stadium managing director Jamil Ssewanyana has assured concerned parties that the arena will be ready for the Uganda Cranes - Togo World Cup qualifier on Sunday.

Ssewanyana told Daily Monitor, Namboole Stadium has been undergoing renovation and refurbishment ahead of the highly billed encounter and everything is bound to be great as expected.

"I am confident the pitch will be ready," he said. "We started restoring the pitch last week, raking to recover grass that had been stamped, mowing, applying ferterlizer, seeding and weeding.

"Our pitch was not damaged like Nakivubo. The activities were light and we didn’t have heavy rain during the conference. Besides are our drainage is good in the current state."

There were concerns that the pitch was likely not to be in the most preferred state for the match after hosting a political delegates’ conference and presidential nominations but the management insists all will be well just before the final day.

Uganda commences her road to the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers with an away date against bogey side Togo on Thursday November 12 at Stade de Kegue in Lome and will be back home to finish the job.
