We have learned on Sunday at 8 am, the Board of Vision Group held an impromptu meeting at Imperial Royale Hotel, Kampala to discuss the future of the media house and its products.
We were exclusively told that Members finally agreed to close Urban TV, however, management of Urban TV has been given weeks to clear unfinished business. A section of Board members wanted to shut down the TV this week but after a heated up meeting — especially on the RUNNING CONTRACTS, it was agreed to give the staff unspecified amount of time to wind up their business with the station.
In the same meeting, the Board members discussed the future of XFM and The Kampala sun.
It was reported that these mentioned products last made profits 3 years back. An unidentified member of Board asked why they are still stuck with products that can’t pay their staff salaries.
The major reason why Urban TV and probably Xfm plus Kampala sun are to be closed is based on profit making.
Well, let's hope they can sort themselves.
