On Sunday 17th September, a charity concert to raise funds for bedridden Danz Kumapesa was organized by well-wishers together with family members at Calendar hotel in Makindye. The producer who was thumped by unknown thugs is still in Nsambya hospital.
Most Ugandan artistes attended the show to support and solidarity to a fellow music comrade. It was attended by artistes like Jose Chameleone, Radio and Weasel, Pallaso, Winnie Nwagi, Azizi Azion among many others.
Speaking to Dan Kumapeesa’s high school OB, a one Damulila he said that the gate collections will cater for the bigger part of the bill though he remained tight-lipped on the amount that was raised.
"We were able to collect a good amount and meet most expense at the venue and now, we only need about Shs 800k to meet all the hospital expenses,” he added.
Meanwhile, we have learned that the money collected has disappeared and organizers are saying it was used to clear operational costs
Dan Kumapeesa is behind popular songs like ‘Mbozi Za Malwa’ by Bebe Cool, ’Yo Sweet’ by Rema, ‘Musaawo’ by Winnie Nwagi.
