Singer Angella Katatumba, Sanyu Fm’s radio host Fat Boy and music producer Washington Ebangit are the official Ugandan judges of the Airtel-Trace Music star competition.
The judges will listen to all the received entries on a platform Interactive Voice Response designed by Airtel and decide on who will be the winner of the Airtel Trace Music Star.
Thousands of Airtel subscribers have over the past two months participated in the competition, by dialing a short code number (162) on their mobile phones and recording their songs.
The judges’ job is to identify the best Ugandans in the competition that will represent the country in the African finale with 12 other African countries where Airtel has a presence.
The participating countries include; Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Madagascar, Malawi, Nigeria, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Chad, Congo Brazzaville, The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Gabon.The winner will walk away with Uganda shillings of 100 million prize.
