Singer Omega 256, a prominent artist based in Western Uganda, has addressed rumors of a feud with fellow regional star Ray G.
Speculation about a rivalry between the self-proclaimed "Queen" and "King of the West" has been circulating for some time, with many believing they are vying for dominance in the region's music scene.
Fueling these rumors was Omega 256's absence from Ray G's recent concert at Cricket Oval, which was supported by several artists from the Western region. On the same day, Omega 256 held her own show in Ishaka.
In her defense, Omega 256 explained that her show was a coincidental booking and that the distance between Mbarara (where she likely was) and Kampala made it difficult for her to attend Ray G's event.
"Do you know the distance between Mbarara and Kampala? Do you want to tell me everyone in the West attended? The show I performed at was random and I was just booked. I wouldn’t refuse to come through," she stated.
While neither confirming nor denying an outright feud, Omega 256 revealed a lack of communication between her and Ray G.
"I do not hear from him. We just see each other like that. We do not mind each other," she noted, expressing her frustration with the line of questioning.
Looking ahead, Omega 256 is preparing for her debut concert in May at Lugogo Cricket Oval and has a lineup of supporting artists. When asked if Ray G was among those invited, she avoided a direct answer, telling her fans to anticipate and support all the artists who will perform.
"Many other artists will be there in Lugogo. You will see those who will come and those who will not. We are not at the show yet so no one can know who will be performing. Just expect superstars," Omega remarked.
