Media personality Robert Sekidde, commonly known as Tuff B, announced his bid for the Makindye East constituency in the 2026 elections.

The veteran TV host and singer, however, faced backlash and criticism from social media following his announcement.

Despite the criticism, Tuff B remains undeterred and is championing his cause for Makindye East.

He explained that as a person, he doesn't mind social media criticism because many people are depressed due to life's struggles, whereas he is personally full of positivity.

"I don’t pay attention to social media or negative comments because people on social media are often depressed. I’m a positive person," he explained.

Tuff B, however, emphasized his need to empower ordinary people and stated that leaders should always cater to the public good.

"Because these people know how much these leaders earn, they expect certain services from them. Instead of merely preaching about the government’s failures, do something on the ground and set an example," he added.

Tuff B, however, faces stiff competition from the incumbent, Nyeko Derrick, and Mr. Mosh, who have also expressed interest in the position. They are all also interested in securing the ticket of the National Unity Platform.
