Residents of Mpira Street, Bufunda division, Ibanda Municipality are in shock after a man travelled from Kiruhura, and committed suicide in their area last night.
The Police in Ibanda are now investigating circumstances under which the 24-year-old man committed suicide and his body was found dangling in his room in Ibanda town.
Police, says the deceased left behind a suicide note with information about his father, where he hails from, and date of birth, written in Runyakole.
The note reads, "Ninduga omu Kageti Kiruhura, my father is Fred Rwabusyagari, kandi nkazarwa 1994 nafa 2018"
Translated as "I am from Kageti, My father is Fred Rwabusyagari, I was born in 1994 and died 2018. "
He had reportedly travelled to Ibanda district to visit a friend who was a tenant in rental belonging to one Ssenyondo Busingye along Mpiira Street in Bufunda division Ibanda municipality.
Susan Tumugumye, the officer in charge of criminal investigation department at Ibanda police station identified the deceased as Wiling Tugume of Omukageti in Kiruhura district.
The deceased reportedly took advantage of his friend's absence to commit suicide.
By press time, the deceased's body had been taken to Ruhooko health centre IV for a postmortem.
