Ugandan’s leading mobile network, MTN Uganda refuted claims that they have dropped artistes who featured in a song campaigning for President Yoweri Museveni.
Recently, social media has been abuzz with reports that artistes including Haruna Mubiru, King Saha, Radio and Weasel, Bebe Cool plus Rema have all been banned by MTN never to feature in their campaigns.
Alternative sources also claimed that Ronald Mayinja has been dropped too for his latest political song, Ensi yaffe!
MTN, meantime, expressed shock at the claims and distanced itself from such allegations citing blackmail from people they think have their personal interests!
"We wish to put it on record that Tubonga Nawe stars have not been fired as far as am concerned they are still working with MTN until their contracts expire. We can’t fire someone for his personal choice…yeah, probably there are people who have their personal interests and they want to take advantage of social media to create stories," top official from MTN who preferred to keep anonymous, told Howwe.Biz.
