Rumor making rounds on social media is that Idris Sultan has so far spent 2 nights in police cell; after his arrest on Tuesday, May 19th.

According to reports, this is after the comedian decided to share a short video laughing off at Magufuli’s tbt photo that proves the President started losing his hair when still young. As seen on the clip, it also seems to be the same thing happening to Idris; meaning the video was meant for fun and games.

However this particular video has however landed Idris into trouble with the authorities; and word has it that the police raided his home looking for more evidence against him.

His lawyer Benedict Ishabakaki however revealed that his client has not been charged with any crime yet; but judging from the questions the police have been asking, then it must be about his recent video.

Cybercrime

This is however the second time Idris Sultan is finding himself run trouble with the Tanzanian government; and just like his last joke about Magufuli, Idris is forced to fast while being held behind bars.

Although Tanzania carries quite a number of hilarious comedians; some of them have opted to ditch their talents as they fear landing themselves in trouble with the strict government!

Paul Makonda who is the commissioner of police in Dar Es Salaam is also known to snoop around celebrity pages looking for tiny mistakes like nudity, public display of affection – just to get some of these celebrities arrested.

For this reason many have come out protesting against the arrest of the comedian stating that he deserves freedom of speech and creativity – and not oppression like the police have been doing.
