Comedian-turned-politician Kato Lubwama was laid to rest on Wednesday this week at his ancestral home in Nkozi.
It was revealed by the family and close friends that the Catholic Church refused to pray for the late after he denounced the Catholic faith for witchcraft.
Bugingo has however disagreed with the Catholic Church and said their actions were uncalled for because they took over God's role.
He stated that it's only God who can judge human beings.
"I don't agree with their take because I have never seen something like that in the Bible. We are not sure if Lubwama embraced Catholicism just before his death. You have no powers to judge the dead," he said in an interview with a local television when asked to weigh in on the actions of the Catholic Church.
Pastor Bugingo also took to the pulpit to pray for the deceased.
