Zari "the bosslady" and Shakib Lutaaya are set to have their wedding ceremony on October 3, 2023. Rumors suggest that Zari will fund a significant portion of the wedding.
Shakib, who doesn't have a recognized job, reportedly contributed UGX 10m to make their big day colorful, according to a close source.
Shakib, who affectionately calls Zari an ATM machine and other names, previously gifted her a Quran at the introduction party as dowry.
"The Nikah ceremony was a surprise. He (Lutaaya) in collaboration with a few friends organised the marriage. I didn't hesitate because I loved him. His courage just shocked me, I didn't really expect him to pull off such a move. I asked for a Quran for Mahr (dowery). I asked for a Quran as Mahr (dowery) because I am on a spiritual journey with Allah. My husband, Shakib prays a lot so I feel guilty if I don't and he always calls to remind me to pray when he's not around" Zari said
Despite the age difference, Zari, who is close to 45, and Shakib, around 28, have been dating for nearly three years, marking a surprising change in her choice of partners.
