Socialite Olim Charles, aka Sipapa, has spent over a year behind bars on cases related to fraud and money laundering, among others.
He has been in and out of courts of law, but it seems they are not ready to release him on bail.
Now, ex-girlfriend Serena Bata has appealed to President Yoweri Museveni, asking him to bail out Sipapa. She says the two have a long-lasting relationship, and it's only fair that Sevo orders his release.
"We beg the President to come out and bail out Sipapa. He has the powers and can choose to do it for the person who has done a lot of good things for him. Sipapa is also a member of NRM," Serena partly said in an interview with a local television.
Sipapa was arrested in September 2022 over allegations of a 1.6 billion Shilling robbery.
