Emerging musician Gloria Bugie has faced considerable criticism, with many alleging she is not suited for a music career.
At one point, Gloria Bugie's music was compared to the sounds from greeting cards.
However, the singer asserts that she will not abandon her music career and is here to stay, vowing to prove her critics wrong.
In an interview with a local television station, she explained that there is a segment of Ugandans who are always intent on discouraging others, but she is not one to give up easily and they should accept her presence.
"I will prove critics wrong because I will remain here and continue to dominate the industry. They always want to discourage people, but I am not going anywhere; I will continue making music. I pity those who believe I will shy away, and I advise them to join me and contribute positively to the music industry," she explained.
Gloria Bugie also stated that she will not be changing her dress code in the near future, explaining that it is her personal choice and one that makes her happy and comfortable.
The singer added that she is one of the most frequently booked artists in Uganda, noting that on Valentine's Day, she had over ten shows across Kampala.
