Kalifah Aganaga has revealed that he spent over UGX 200 million while contesting in the Kawempe North by-elections.

Aganaga, known for his music career, ran for the parliamentary seat under the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party flag. Despite his significant campaign expenditure, he finished in fifth place, securing only 239 votes.

The Kawempe North by-election was won by Elias Nalukoola of the National Unity Platform (NUP), who garnered 17,764 votes. Faridah Nambi Kigongo of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) came in second with 8,593 votes.

Kalifah Aganaga's foray into politics has ignited discussions about the role of musicians in leadership. However, his performance in the election highlights the potential challenges of translating musical popularity into political support.

As of now, Kalifah Aganaga has not confirmed whether he will pursue further political ambitions or return his full focus to his music career.
