East Africa’s best Afro beat artist Joseph Mayanja a.k.a Jose Chameleone is finally ‘coming home’ after several years of fleeing his Seguku based residence.
The superstar singer fled his home in 2013 due to death threats from different people to Mbuya then before heading to Munyenya. The cause of the death threats arose from the unfortunate death Karamaji who the locals accused Singer to have had a hand in his death!
In 2013, Feb 2, Chameleone wrote on his personal Facebook page:
The statement below is what he wrote on his wall
My security and that of my family was compromised in Seguku. Therefore it was prudent to acquire another place as the security issues at Seguku got fixed. Again this will allow for the renovation work that has been going on at Seguku for the last 4 months get finished n dan more efficiently. Leone island family, introducing my new hut in Muyenga……..
Now, according to our reliable sources, It is said Chameleone parked most of his belonging and decided to return to his house together with his wife Daniela and children yesterday.
This came after he received a lot of criticism from different people who said it’s not right traditionally for a Muganda man to reside at his in-laws.
