In early 2000’s rap was born to Uganda with the help of Lyrical G, Klear Kut , Ruyonga, Rocky Giant and others. It was not easy to earn from rap …people were still used to Lingala and music from bands like Limit X, Afrigo band , kads band. All the same rappers never threw in the towel.
GNL Zamaba given his past made Ugandans Love Hip Hop…In his good days he made even the officers to fall in love with the genre. The President during the 2010/ 2011 polls ventured into rap because it’s what most youth identified with…and there was “another rap” hit .

My state house dinner performance and freestyle that inspired the president to rap, I took LugaFlow to the state house and before we knew it mzei was so inspired he did his famous "You want another rap" ode to the crowd.We made history as he became the first president to rap, from CNN,BBC,FOX,ABC,ALJAZEERA to RTI and local channels picked up the song too. I felt proud of that moment representing the youth and the whole HipHop Movement. Thanks to @kawesarichard Fenon Records @isaac Rucci, @jeff ekongot.
