Drake stopped by Beats 1 Radio on Friday morning and discussed the state of his relationship with his once close friend Nicki Minaj after he got into some serious beef with her boyfriend, Meek Mill, last summer. The "Views From the 6" rapper also opened up about his relationship with Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Kanye West and Jay Z.
Drake has revealed he no longer speaks Nicki Minaj.
The Canadian star, who released his album Views to critical acclaim this week, was locked in a feud with Nicki’s other half last year.
The pair traded insults over social media and tracks after Meek accused Drake of not writing his own raps.
Opening up about the current state of their relationship this week, Drake shared: “I don’t really talk to Nicki. [She’s a] person I have a lot of love for. A lot of love and a lot of respect. Not only for our past, and how much work and time we put in, but even just the way she dealt with the situation.
"I understand what love is, and I understand a personal situation. She dealt with me how I would expect her to — which was with class. I could only ever do the same."
He added to Zane Lowe on OVOSOUND Radio on Beats 1: “There was points in time where I was sitting there waiting — is this gonna go — how deep is your love? You gotta ask yourself. I always have respect and love for Nicki. Unfortunately, we haven’t spoke. But it is what it is. Even if we don’t speak, she knows what it is. It’s always love.”
Last October Nicki aired her view on the beef, saying: “They’re men, grown-ass men; it’s between them.
“I hate it. It doesn’t make me feel good. You don’t ever want to choose sides between people you love. It’s ridiculous. I just want it to be over.”
