Eminem has been challenged to a rap battle and it has a pretty hefty price tag.

The rapper found himself called up for a $100,000 (£70,000) duel by actor and producer Nick Cannon.

"We gonna be out in the States for the BET Awards. I'm holding a $100,000 battle - whoever wants it - but it has to be someone who can put up 100 grand," explained Nick in a radio interview with Tim Westwood .

Nick's challenge came after his host joked about how 'horrible' a rap battle between him and Eminem would be.

"Last time, I heard you were getting ready for a rap battle with Eminem. That would have been horrible," he laughed.

"I mean, to your face I would have been there for you, but that would have been horrible."

Meanwhile, Nick – who split from wife Mariah Carey last year – was adamant that he's succeed in the charity match.

"I reached out to Tyga, he didn't want it. I went to all Slaughterhouse. I did it like Mortal Kombat. I said I'll take all of them out to get to the boss [Eminem]," he laughed.

"Hip hop needs this. Tim find me someone to battle for a hundred grand."

"Once I win I'm going to donate my winnings to a children's hospital."

Getting cocky there, Nick?

It's thought the pair have had issues with each other since 2009, when Eminem released his album Relapse and the track Bagpipes from Baghdad.

The song reportedly had lyrics that insulted Nick and his former partner Mariah Carey.

Since then, the musicians started a war of words, with Mariah's single Obsessed thought to be directed at the rapper – who then hit back with The Warning.

Could this rap battle be a way of putting their issues to bed?
