Anti-riot police have arrested women who had gathered at the National Theatre in Kampala to protest against the proposed constitutional amendment Bill.
A group of about 30 women had gathered for a protest when police trucks appeared and a number of them were bundled and whisked away.
The women were intending to match to parliament to protest against the bill that seeks to amend the constitution to remove the age limit for judges, which currently stands at 70.
Ugandans are worried that MPs lifting the age limit for judges could send the country down a path leading to lifting of an age limit for the presidency.

President Yoweri Museveni, who has led the country since 1986, will not be allowed to run for a sixth term in 2021 under current rules, so many believe he is manipulating a section of MPs to support the bill which could in turn be used to keep him around.
The women had dressed in white to show the peaceful nature.
