TNS singer Sheebah Karungi and Swangz Avenue singer Vinka have been nominated in the 2021 Afrima awards happening this year on 15th November in Texas, USA.
They were both picked in the category of Best female singer, East Africa.
Spice Diana, who collected most of the local awards in 2019 was not nominated in any category.
Other Ugandan nominees include Sasha Vybz in the category of Best Video Director, Keko in the best Rap Act, Eddy kenzo in the best male East Africa, Masaka Kids best African dancers. And James Onen nominated for the best Radio personality.
The AFRIMA awards are aimed at celebrating the African beauty and its diversity in the creative sector.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this year's celebrations will be virtual unlike the past years.
