Musician Ykee Benda speaks with a lot of disappointment every time he is asked about Dre Cali, and how he left Mpaka Records.
In a fresh interview, Ykee Benda disclosed that he tried to engage with Dre Cali’s family members including his mother when Cali started ghosting him, but the meetings were fruitless.
“Everyone I spoke to in his family avoided me. The mother never gave me answers. She was elusive yet when he was signing the contract, she was so involved,” furious Ykee Benda said.
“His baby mama said she didn’t know where he was yet she looked to be very happy with her life. Someone whose baby daddy is lost can’t be happy,” says Ykee Benda.
It should be noted that Dre Cali signed to Mpaka Records in 2019. It is not clear whether Dre Cali will return to Uganda having reportedly fled to Canada amid lawsuits from his former management, Wyse Technologies Limited.
