David Lutaalo has addressed the pressure from fellow artists and fans urging musicians to speak out about the ongoing corruption in Uganda.
In an interview with NBS Television, Lutaalo labeled those demanding his comments as stupid.
He explained that for a long time, he has been releasing music critical of social injustices, inequality, and corruption, and he shouldn't be pressured to do so because that's not how music works.
"Those are just stupid. I am sorry to say so, but what haven't I done? I have composed songs that are a direct attack on corruption and many other injustices. They should know that music is about thinking. I can't be pressured to release songs because I have to sit and think," he said.
Lutaalo was speaking just a day after Azawi called out artists for being silent against corruption.
