This week, Sylvia Owori announced that her career as a TV presenter had ended.

With a heavy heart, I would like to announce to all my fans and well-wishers my resignation as the host of NTV Style project. This comes after a great deal of contemplation and consultation on what could be the best way forward for me and the show that I have grown to so much apprize.

This is chiefly because I and the executives at the station regrettably couldn’t concur with each other on what in my capacity (as a pivotal part of the show) thought was vital in making the show even better in the future.

I have always believed in giving utmost effort to finding common ground or effective and pragmatic ways to move forward when parties disagree. That style has been instrumental in making the show successful but alas I found that atmosphere was suddenly unfortunately vanishing to my regret.

Equally important is my long-term desire to concentrate on pushing for sustainable growth of other arms of fashion and all its related industries in Uganda.

I can’t stress enough just how immensely I will miss being able to regularly entertain and inform our ardent fans on key subjects of fashion and beauty. I will therefore take this time to continue to reflect in order to be able to comeback with an even more elaborate, widespread and ultimately greater show in the near future.

I would like to extent my utmost gratitude to NTV Uganda for the opportunity, their courteous professional guidance and support they have given me over the past two years.

I wish The Style Project great success in the future. I’m extremely proud and fortunate to have been a part of one of the highest rated shows in Uganda!

Thank you!

However, after issuing the statement, there has erupted a rumor that she could have been fired by NTV since her show had lost viewership and turned into an ‘insulting platform’ for fashion lovers.

A source at the Serena based TV station tipped us that the show crumbled after so many accusations within and outside the TV station. It is said, Sylvia and her guests were ‘extremely criticizing’ (call it attacking) people on the show.

After several indoor meetings with the managers to change and be further creative on the show, Sylvia became big headed which forced the management to come up with strong guidelines to save their image… consequently forcing her to resign.
