The humorous legislator, commonly known as Mr. Update, breathed his last at Lubaga Hospital, where he had been receiving treatment.

Ssegirinya Muhammad was born as "Richard Ssegirinya" in 1988 in the Masaka district of Uganda. He later converted from Roman Catholicism to Islam, adopting the name Muhammad.

Ssegirinya breathed his last this morning at Lubaga Hospital after a long battle with cancer-related illness.

Ssegirinya has been hospitalized since August after his health worsened. He arrived at Entebbe International Airport on Tuesday and was received by a group of his supporters.

The dedicated NUP supporter, however, now finds himself without the support of his political party and Bobi Wine, who serves as the leader of NUP.

Last month, Mr. Update was flown to Europe for specialized treatment due to persistent stomachache complaints.
